Make an inauguration vibrate like a real movie moment.
To inaugurate Le Podium, a new theater in the Annecy region, we wanted to go far beyond the expected institutional film. The place deserved an entrance in its image: lively, surprising, and rooted in its community. Rather than a classic presentation film, we imagined a short, funny and poetic fiction, capable of revealing the magic of the place before even opening the doors.

background
The Annecy basin has several renowned rooms, but none resembled the Podium: 600 seats, 1500 in total capacity, exceptional acoustics and rare modularity. An exceptional place that deserved a worthy inauguration.
Objectives
Present the new room and make an impression as soon as it opens. The initial brief called for a demonstrative and institutional film. We preferred to listen to what the place really had to say, and propose a movie that would make it feel rather than describe it.
The idea.
Make an inauguration movie a memorable story.
Create a humorous short film, inspired by Night at the Museum, where a security guard discovers, for one night, the artists hidden behind the scenes of the Podium.
A poetic game of hide-and-seek, punctuated with nods to the artistic diversity of the city, and culminating at dawn with the revelation of the place in all its light. A symbolic way of “waking up” the Podium in front of the public.

The return Without detours
We put 4 agencies in competition with a brief.
3 told us:
“Ok we can do it...”
Black & Wild answered:
”We know how to do it,but we would like to offer you something else...”
One Very nice encounter with creatives who carried our project further than we had imagined at the beginning.
The result is Stunning !!
From design to production to the finished product, this agency has never ceased to surprise us.
The genesis.
The initial brief proposed drone images and institutional voice-over. But when we discovered the Podium, we felt something else: a promise of a show, a desire to share, a place made to vibrate.
Refusing the brief meant taking a measured risk: that of making a film that was more accurate, closer to the emotions that the theater was supposed to arouse. We chose storytelling, rhythm, and humor to reveal the true identity of the place.

We imagined a movie that brings people together. Local associations were integrated into the project, turning filming into a collective adventure. This mixture of artists, energies and good humor has given life to a simple but powerful fiction: a film that belongs to everyone.
Solutions.
Two days of filming, including a full night, 26 artists involved and a careful cast to find the right caretaker, the backbone of the story.
The film was then broadcast during the official inauguration and then on the networks. Its quirky narration, its complicit tone and its rhythmic editing immediately seduced the public and local institutions.
