Sublimate the material to reveal the soul of a territory.

A young watch brand from the Savoy region, Arilus is committed to telling the story of its territory through exceptional pieces. For its iconic model, the Grand Arc Ardoise, the brand wanted to assert its uniqueness and promote its know-how. Black & Wild imagined a manifesto film, designed as an ode to the material, where each texture becomes a symbol of a heritage and a local identity.

background

Arilus, a young watch house based in the Alps, embodies the alliance between contemporary design and Savoyard heritage. Through its watches, the brand brings together the region's natural resources and industrial know-how.

Objectives

Present the Grand Arc Ardoise as an iconic watch and reinforce Arilus's reputation among a public of high-end watch lovers and retailers. The film had to make the link between the material, the territory and the precision of the gesture tangible.

The idea.

Make you feel the power of the elements.
We designed a film where materials come to life, collide, and transform. Slate, steel and wool become the brand's silent narrators. Each shot, designed as a sensory exploration, tells the genesis of an object shaped by the mountain itself. The film alternates between cold and hot, hardness and softness, to reflect this tension between raw nature and watchmaking mastery.

Results.

A clear and embodied brand identity

A signature film, now a pillar of Arilus communication

A distinctive aesthetic, praised for its precision and its evocative strength

I want that too!

The return Without detours

Nothing to add — it was simply PERFECT!

A pleasure to be there with you on shoot day, seeing behind the curtain and watching your magic at work! 🍕

The genesis.

To dive into the soul of the mountains was first of all to understand their language. We observed the textures, the reflections, the contrasts that make up Savoy.

From there was born an artistic direction centered on the material: graphic, refined, almost mineral. Storyboarding laid the foundations for a visual story without words, where the force of gesture and the poetry of movement are enough to tell.

Solutions.

In the studio, we staged raw materials in controlled environments. Splintered slate, molten steel, wool fibers in suspension: each shot was thought of as a metaphor. The LED screen allowed us to recreate contrasting atmospheres, between the heat of the metal and the mineral coldness. The watch, slowly revealed, becomes the synthesis of these forces. In post-production, sound design played a key role: from the mechanical tick-tock to the cracking of rock, everything was sculpted to awaken the senses and reinforce immersion.
