Make everyday life a moment of serenity.
To support the launch of Sérénia, its new garage door engine, Somfy wanted a film that could transform a technical product into a desirable life experience. The objective: to illustrate how innovation, comfort and sustainability can coexist in the heart of the home.

background
A leader in motorization and the connected home, Somfy wanted to modernize its video content and give a more emotional image to its products. Sérénia, the first eco-designed motor for garage doors intended for the general public, marked a turning point in their B2C communication.
Objectives
Make Sérénia known to the general public, reassure the general public about its ease of installation and use, and affirm the brand's eco-responsible commitments. The challenge: to condense several product messages (comfort, safety, security, connectivity, sustainability) into a short format, without voice-overs or demonstrative speeches.
The idea.
Show how technology can become invisible when it really improves daily life.
We imagined a fluid narration, punctuated by universal scenes of life: rain, the return from work, family life, the night, the complicity between neighbors. Each moment reveals a concrete benefit of the Sérénia engine without ever falling into a demonstration.
The aesthetic is inspired by cinema: warm light, natural gestures, peaceful rhythm. The film celebrates the simplicity and well-being of a smart home, with Somfy's eco-consciousness as a backdrop.

Results.

A first video for the general public for the Somfy garage door range, setting a new standard of image and emotion

A fluid collaboration, praised for its attentiveness, its responsiveness and the accuracy of the casting, considered “perfectly adapted to the product and the spirit of the brand”

An artistic direction praised by the client for its finesse and its balance between storytelling and product precision

The return Without detours
The project ran under excellent conditions
The final video completely matches what we were hoping for and showcases our product in a way that's both effective and beautiful
Working with the Black & Wild team was smooth, responsive and always attentive to what we needed.
The genesis.
From the brief, we wanted to leave the technical film behind to place the product in a human story. Somfy does not sell an engine: it offers lasting comfort, a sense of security and a more fluid daily life.

We rooted our writing around this principle: “show, don't tell.” Instead of explaining, we chose to make the difference between living with and without Sérénia felt. The idea of the neighbor, witness and then converted, crystallizes this subtle transition from demonstration to emotion.
In the staging, each shot was designed to reinforce this human and sensory dimension. The camera follows the characters gently, the light evolves as the moments of the day change, and the house becomes a character in its own right — warm, modern, lively.
Solutions.
Filming took place over two and a half days, alternating life scenes and product packshots.
Shot in RED 8K with spherical cinema lenses, the film combines movement and naturalness to avoid advertising rigidity. The artistic direction has aligned itself with the new Somfy charter: warm tones, modern fonts, green decorations, the absence of historic yellow.
In parallel, a dedicated photo shoot made it possible to produce around sixty coherent visuals for the web, the press and print media.
Everything was delivered in several formats (FR/EN/Clean/Social Media) in order to ensure the consistency of the international launch.
